Welcome to beautiful Lake Winnisquam!
Lake Winnisquam is the third-largest lake in New Hampshire and is known for its deep, crystal-clear water, making it very easy to navigate.
There are plenty of fun things to do on the lake—visit the world-famous sandbar, grab a bite at the Winnisquam Market, explore the Loon Sanctuary, or check out Ahern State Park for swimming and hiking along the scenic shoreline. Enjoy breathtaking views of the surrounding mountain ranges while cruising the lake or taking a refreshing swim.
State of NH accepts the following boating education certificates:
We offer the 14-Day Temporary Boating Certificate test at our office. To pass the test, you’ll need to study the New Hampshire Safe Boating handbook. The test costs $20, whether you pass or fail.
We strongly suggest you download this FREE Navionics App to help you navigate Winnisquam or Winnipesaukee.
It would indeed be a fantastic experience to be able to boat directly between Lake Winnisquam and Lake Winnipesaukee. However, I regret to inform you that the two lakes are not directly connected due to the presence of dams and Lake Opeeche in between.
While you cannot boat between the lakes, you have the opportunity to explore each lake separately. You can rent a boat on Lake Winnisquam for one day and then rent another boat on Lake Winnipesaukee the next day to fully enjoy and discover the unique features and attractions of each lake.
